Posture Has No Morals

Posture Has No Morals

April 15, 2022

As someone deeply connected to movement and who supports people toward their own creative embodiment, I often witness how emotionally attached to "good" and "bad" posture people can become.

I don't believe in good or bad posture, I believe posture is a form of language our bodies communicate through – our muscle fibres shaping into words becoming their own writing system. They tell us a story of our past, present and can help us determine our movements for the future. Posture is a language to understand our bodies' needs as we continue to engage with our environments. I see it as a story that is always in transition, and a story to always learn from.
